A virtual walk is a real walk, but on your terms: You get to choose your own course, you can walk in your driveway, neighborhood, in your house and even on treadmill! Sign up now and participate in the virtual walk by raising money and awareness. Your family, friends, colleagues and health care providers can join on June 13, 2020.

PARTICIPANT TYPES:
-This year, we are making registration FREE for all to join.
-Recruit your teams early, and get all your friends/family signed up

JOIN US VIRTUALLY:
-To KICKSTART our fundraising and people signed up, we are all walking together virtually on June 13
-Start your team and walk with us! Whether you walk around the block, the neighborhood, or even inside. Where and how far you walk is up to you!
-Join us on Facebook Live on the Great Lakes Region Facebook page as we stick together. We may not be walking together physically, but we are ALL walking for the same CAUSE.

VIRTUAL CONTEST:
-Dress up in costumes (&/OR Team Hope Shirt) with your family or whoever you are walking with. Post a picture or video while you walk and tag #LansingTeamHopeWalk. You will be entered into a drawing to win a PRIZE

FUNDRAISING:
-Create your participant pages and start raising money NOW!
-For every level you raise for HD will receive the great prizes below!
  • $100 Level: Team Hope T-Shirt
  • $500 Level: Contigo Water Bottle + T-shirt
  • $1,000 Level: Sweatshirt + Contigo + T-shirt
  • $2,000 Level: Blanket + Sweatshirt + Contigo  + T-shirt​
All prizes will be delivered to a central location AFTER the walk.  You will be notified of times and dates to pick up your cool stuff.
If you cannot pick up the prizes we ask that you pay a $10.00 shipping & handling fee (click here) and we will mail your items to your address following the event

What is Huntington’s Disease?
Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities usually during their prime working years and has no cure. Every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the faulty gene that causes the disease. Today, there are approximately 40,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease. Huntington’s disease is described as having ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s – simultaneously. HD is characterized by a triad of symptoms, including progressive motor dysfunction, behavioral disturbance and cognitive decline.
