The park will be open from 10am – 2pm. Feel free to check in at any time in that 4 hour window.
All volunteers will be masked and in conjunction with the State of Michigan guidelines we also require participants to wear a mask as well.
- Once you arrive, you will start your walk on the trail, follow the course and then have your photo taken when you get back to the park.
- On the walk course, please maintain a distance of greater than 6 feet from anybody who lives outside of your household.
- After you photo is taken, the walk is over, and please return to your car.
We are discouraging spending time at the pavilion after the event. No food or beverage will be served so bring your own water.
Although we are “no contact” at our event, you still have the opportunity to get awesome prizes and make some money!
Your fundraising efforts will be totaled after the event and the prizes you have earned will be mailed (look below at the Fundraising section for details)
50/50 raffle (cash only)
Cash will go into one bucket, and we will fill out a ticket with your name and address and place that into another bucket. At the end of the day, we will draw a winner and mail you half of the total later in week when it is safe to count the money.
Team Hope Walks aim to raise as much money possible in the local community to support the mission and services of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. There are many different fundraising strategies you may use to have a successful fundraising campaign, and HDSA suggests you use all of them! To download the Team Hope Walk Participant Packet and check out the Team Hope website’s Fundraising Tips & Tools (including some fundraising webinars!) and Participant Resources sections.
We invite all local companies and small businesses to sponsor this Team Hope Walk. We depend on the generosity of sponsors, and by sponsoring a walk your company will be supporting a great cause as well as engaging in an exciting marketing opportunity within the local community. If your company is interested in sponsoring the walk, please email email@example.com!

What is Huntington’s Disease?
Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities usually during their prime working years and has no cure. Every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the faulty gene that causes the disease. Today, there are approximately 40,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease. Huntington’s disease is described as having ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s – simultaneously. HD is characterized by a triad of symptoms, including progressive motor dysfunction, behavioral disturbance and cognitive decline.
